Michael Young Claims Big Prize In 'Ultimate Riches' Scratch Game

CLIVE, Iowa – A Grimes man has claimed a $25,000 lottery prize.

Michael Young of Winterset claimed the 19th of 42 prizes of $30,000 available in the Iowa Lottery's "Ultimate Riches" scratch game.

Young claimed his prize Wednesday at the lottery's headquarters in Clive.

He purchased his winning ticket at Git-N-Go, 403 S. First St. in Winterset.

Ultimate Riches is the Iowa Lottery's first-ever $30 scratch game. More details about how to play this game, and number of prizes still up for grabs in it can be found on the Iowa Lottery's website, www.ialottery.com.

Since the lottery's start in 1985, its players have won more than $5.7 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $2.4 billion for the state programs that benefit all Iowans.

Today, lottery proceeds help our state in multiple ways. They help Iowa veterans and their families through the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund. They help the families of Iowa peace officers, firefighters and corrections employees who die in the line of duty. And they provide help for a variety of significant projects through the state General Fund.
