CLIVE, Iowa — A central Iowa woman has won a lottery prize of $15,625.
Donna Gwinn of Johnston hit big in Saturday's midday Pick 4 drawing. She made a $5 straight/box wager, meaning she could win a prize by matching the four numbers drawn in any order. But her prize was larger because she matched the numbers in the exact order drawn: 7-3-2-6.
Gwinn bought her winning ticket at Casey's, 6110 Merle Hay Road in Johnston, and claimed her prize Tuesday at the lottery's main office in Clive.
Pick 4, which has been offered in Iowa since September 2003, features odds of just 1 in 10,000 of winning the game's $30,000 top prize. It offers a variety of play options and wagers from 50 cents to $5 for the chance to match a four-digit number combination from 0000 to 9999.
