CLIVE, Iowa – A Marshalltown man has claimed a $50,000 lottery prize.

Jacob Lathrop claimed the seventh of 12 top prizes of $50,000 available in the Iowa Lottery's "$50,000 Holiday Magic Crossword" scratch game.

Lathrop bought his winning ticket at Jiffy, 111 S. Third Ave. in Marshalltown, and claimed his prize Monday at the lottery's headquarters in Clive.

The $50,000 Holiday Magic Crossword game is a $5 ticket. More details about how to play this game, and number of prizes still up for grabs in it can be found on the Iowa Lottery's website, www.ialottery.com.

The $100,000 Holiday Mega Crossword game is one of 11 holiday tickets that can be entered online or via our new mobile app in the "Secret Santa" Play It Again® promotion from now through 8:59 a.m. Dec. 28 for a chance to win cash prizes. For rules and complete details, visit www.ialottery.com.

Today, lottery proceeds help our state in multiple ways. They help Iowa veterans and their families through the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund. They help the families of Iowa peace officers, firefighters and corrections employees who die in the line of duty. And they provide help for a variety of significant projects through the state General Fund.
