CLIVE, Iowa - A Linn County woman won a big lottery prize this week playing her favorite scratch game.
Barb Colehour of Central City claimed the seventh of nine top prizes of $100,000 available in the lottery's "Little Black Game Book" scratch game.
The 57-year-old said she bought her winning ticket Tuesday at Casey's, 3349 Mount Vernon Road SE in Cedar Rapids and scratched it off later that night.
Colehour said she regularly plays the Little Black Game Book, but she never expected to win the game's $100,000 top prize.
"Oh I checked it I don't know how many times because it's like, 'OK. Is this real?' And it is!" Colehour told lottery employees Wednesday
as she claimed her prize at the lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids.
Colehour said she hasn't finalized her plan for her lottery winnings yet, but she said a portion of it might go to pay bills.
Little Black Game Book is a $20 scratch game. More details about how to play this
and other scratch games, and the number of prizes still up for grabs in it can be found on our website.
