Attraction Offers Discounts to Iowa Powerball®
Players; Other Iowa Businesses Also Make Special Offers As Part
Of Campaign
DES MOINES, Iowa – The latest round of money-saving offers in
the "Keep Your Powerball Ticket Handy" campaign is available
starting at 10 p.m. Wednesday, with a Storm Lake resort as the
featured attraction.
The King's Pointe Resort is the fourth of eight featured
attractions in the summer travel initiative from the Iowa
Lottery and Iowa Tourism Office. The idea behind the "Experience
Iowa" project with its "Keep Your Powerball Ticket Handy" slogan
is to encourage people to travel the state, go to Iowa
attractions and businesses and give the entire state a boost in
these tough economic times.
King's Pointe is offering $20 off an overnight standard
waterpark room rate as part of the campaign. The resort on the
shores of Storm Lake was built with the assistance of funding
from the state Vision Iowa program. King’s Pointe features 100
guest rooms, indoor and outdoor water parks, ballroom and
meeting facilities, as well as a family-dining restaurant.
In addition, starting Thursday, players can visit the lottery's
Web site to find out how they can use their nonwinning Powerball
tickets to receive three other special offers.
To take advantage of the latest offers, Iowa Powerball players
who have a nonwinning ticket from the drawing on Wednesday (May
13) can log onto the lottery Web site at www.ialottery.com,
print off a coupon there starting Thursday, attach their
nonwinning ticket and then present the coupon to the
participating business to receive the special deal. This latest
round of offers will be available through Saturday.
Powerball ticket holders must use one ticket per coupon, or
select which offer they wish to use.
The lottery-tourism project will continue through May and June,
with discounts from other featured attractions to include
Adventureland Inn in Altoona; Riverboat Twilight, which offers
riverboat trips from Le Claire to Dubuque; Iowa Marriott Hotels
at special participating locations; PZAZZ/FunCity amusement park
in Burlington; the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium
in Dubuque; Iowa Speedway in Newton; and Honey Creek Resort near
Lake Rathbun in south-central Iowa. |
