DES MOINES, Iowa – The Iowa Lottery is adding to the summer heat
with a hot deal – they're giving away a car!
Beginning today, July 2, players can enter nonwinning $10
Powerball/Power Play tickets for a second-chance drawing to win
the red Powerball Patrol Car.
Residents all across Iowa may have already seen the car. The
lottery's Powerball Patrol team has been traveling around in it
this summer, promoting "Keep Your Ticket Handy" with offers for
players with non-winning Powerball tickets to save on Iowa
attractions.
"Our Powerball Patrol car always turns people's heads, so we
thought giving it away would provide an exciting second-chance
opportunity for our players," said Joe Hrdlicka, vice president
of marketing for the Iowa Lottery.
If they haven't already seen the car in person, players can
visit the Iowa Lottery Web site at www.ialottery.com and click
on the "Events" banner to see which locations the Powerball
Patrol Car will visit next.
Players can visit the lottery Web site at www.ialottery.com
beginning at noon Thursday, July 2 and enter the serial numbers
from nonwinning $10 Iowa Powerball with Power Play tickets.
Eligible nonwinning tickets must have been purchased between
June 28 and Aug. 22, 2009. The tickets must be $5 Powerball
tickets with the $5 Power Play addition. Deadline for entry is
noon on August 24.
Players must keep all nonwinning Powerball with Power Play
tickets they enter. The drawing for the car will be August 26.
For a full set of rules regarding the promotion, players can

Since the Iowa Lottery's inception in 1985, its players have won
more than $2.2 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised
more than $1.1 billion for state programs. |
