More Ticket Came Close To Winning A Share Of Wednesday's $25
Million Powerball Jackpot
DES MOINES, Iowa – The Iowa State Fair has brought another
lottery player good luck! A ticket winning a $200,000 prize in
Wednesday's Powerball drawing was sold at the Lottery's booth
during the State Fair.
The ticket matched all five white balls, but missed the
Powerball from last night's drawing, to win a $200,000 prize.
Now the question remains, who has that ticket?
"It could be anyone, either from Iowa or out of state. The State
Fair brings in a million people from all over," said Lottery CEO
Terry Rich. "We look forward to meeting our latest winner or
winners when they bring their ticket in."
As of Thursday morning, no one had come forward to claim the
$200,000 prize. The ticket matched the same number of white
balls the $1 million prize won with on Friday, but the Power
Play® option was not selected.
The winning numbers in Wednesday's $25 million Powerball drawing
were: 1-21-23-30-43 and Powerball 11. The Power Play multiplier
was 3. Since the jackpot was not hit in last night's drawing,
the estimated jackpot amount climbed to $33 million for
Saturday's drawing.
But this isn't the only big winner the Lottery is searching for.
There is still an unclaimed $200,000 Powerball prize from a
ticket sold in Council Bluffs. Someone bought the ticket at a
convenience store called Eddy's at 3434 Nebraska Ave. for the
Powerball drawing on Saturday, May 9.
Players have 365 days to claim their Powerball prizes from the
date of the drawing. Lottery officials are reminding players to
be sure to check their Powerball tickets for other prizes as
well and to always sign your tickets.
Winning numbers may be checked on the lottery Web site at
www.ialottery.com or through the winning numbers' hot line at
(515) 323-4633. Winning numbers may also be checked with lottery
retail outlets or by calling the lottery at (515) 725-7900 from
8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Since the Iowa Lottery's start in 1985, its players have won
more than $2.4 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised
nearly $1.2 billion for state programs. |
