PERRY MAN WINS $10,000 LOTTERY PRIZE

Brent Halling Wins Big Prize in "Set for Life" Scratch Game

DES MOINES, Iowa – A Perry man won $10,000 playing the "Set for Life" scratch game.

Brent Halling claimed his prize Friday at the Iowa Lottery’s headquarters in Des Moines. He bought his winning ticket at Casey's, 2617 Willis St. in Perry.

Set for Life is a $20 scratch game with eight top prizes of $1 million. Players who win the top prize have the option of receiving it as an annuity or lump-sum payment. If the winner chooses to take the annuity, he/she will be paid $40,000 per year for a period of 25 years. If the winner chooses to receive the lump-sum payment, he/she will receive $650,000 before taxes.

Four top prizes of $1 million are still up for grabs in the game, along with five prizes of $10,000, as well as more than 35 prizes of $1,000, more than 75 prizes of $500 and more than 395 prizes of $100.

Since the Iowa Lottery's start in 1985, its players have won more than $2.4 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised nearly $1.2 billion for state programs.
