CLIVE, Iowa — An eastern Iowa man will finally be able to give his classic pickup a fresh paint job after winning more than $17,000 in lottery prizes.
Deacon Luedeman of Springville said the two-tone gray and white paint scheme will be the final step in the restoration of his 1978 Ford F-350.
“This is the finishing touch,” Luedeman said.
Luedeman on Friday won a pair of prizes totaling $17,500 in the Pick 4 midday drawing.
He bought his winning tickets at Casey's, 23485 County Road E35 near Anamosa, and claimed his prizes Friday at the lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids.
Luedeman said he's excited to complete the restoration of his dream machine.
“I've had it for 20 years and I was either going to get rid of the Ford or keep it, and I decided to keep it,” he said. “All the other body work has been done. The motor's all been rebuilt, the transmission's all been rebuilt. The last thing I've got is getting it painted.”
Pick 4, which has been offered in Iowa since September 2003, features odds of just 1 in 10,000 of winning the game's $30,000 top prize. It offers a variety of play options and wagers from 50 cents to $5 for the chance to match a four-digit number combination from 0000 to 9999.
