MEDIA ADVISORY: Iowa Lottery To Hold News Conference Monday At Nevada Casey's Store

WHO: Officials from Casey's General Stores and the Iowa Lottery will hold a news conference Monday in Nevada to call attention to the $1 million Powerball® prize that remains unclaimed 11 months after it was won in that central-Iowa community. There is one month left to claim the prize.

WHAT: Iowa Lottery officials will issue a reminder about the unclaimed prize and encourage lottery players to double-check their tickets.

WHEN: 2:30 p.m. on Monday (March 11, 2019).

WHERE: Casey's, General Store, 1800 S. B Ave in Nevada.

WHY: Someone who bought a ticket in Nevada won a $1 million Powerball prize in the drawing on April 11, 2018. The prize remains unclaimed and will expire if it is not claimed at Iowa Lottery headquarters in Clive by the deadline on April 11, 2019.

Since the lottery's start in 1985, its players have won more than $5.7 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $2.4 billion for the state programs that benefit all Iowans.

Today, lottery proceeds help our state in multiple ways. They help Iowa veterans and their families through the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund. They help the families of Iowa peace officers, firefighters and corrections employees who die in the line of duty. And they provide help for a variety of significant projects through the state General Fund.
