Need To Know Amount Of Your Lottery Win? Iowa Lottery Now Has An App For That

Mobile Update Now Displays Prize Amount

CLIVE, Iowa - The Iowa Lottery has updated its mobile app for players, now providing the prize amount involved when a winning ticket is scanned. The new capability serves as both a convenience factor and an additional security feature that allows players to determine the outcome of tickets on their own.

"Our players spoke and we listened. The ability to determine a prize amount now rests in the palm of our players' hands with this player-empowerment innovation," said Iowa Lottery CEO Matt Strawn.

Before this week's update, the lottery's app displayed whether a ticket was a winner or nonwinner, but it didn't specify the prize amount involved for a winning ticket. As with any technology, the lottery has updated its app over time and was able to add the additional capability in its latest version.

The Iowa Lottery is a technology leader within its industry and has had a mobile app for Apple devices for several years. In May 2017, it was able to add a version of the app for Android devices. The app is called the Iowa Lottery's LotteryPlus and is available in the Google Play Store® and Apple iTunes Store®.

Players can use the lottery's app to check ticket results, see the latest jackpot amounts and winning numbers in lotto drawings, enter lottery promotions, access game details, and find retail locations where lottery tickets are sold.

With the lottery app's new capability, when a winning ticket is scanned, it also displays where that ticket can be redeemed: at a lottery retail location, at a lottery office, or at lottery headquarters only, depending on the prize amount involved.
