$100,000 Lottery Prize Nears Expiration Date In Des Moines

Prize Won in Powerball® Game

CLIVE, Iowa - A $100,000 lottery prize won in central Iowa will expire within a week if it isn't claimed in time, and the Iowa Lottery is reminding players to double-check their tickets.

The winning Powerball ticket was purchased at QuikTrip, 4021 Fleur Drive in Des Moines, for the drawing on Nov. 27, 2019. It initially matched four of the white balls and the Powerball to win a $50,000 prize. But whoever bought the winning ticket also added the Power Play® option to the purchase, which multiplied the prize to $100,000.

The winning numbers in that night's drawing were: 15-26-37-53-55 and Powerball 21. The Power Play number was 2.

The winner of the $100,000 prize has until 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, to claim it at one of the Iowa Lottery's offices. The lottery reminds customers that its offices will be closed Wednesday-Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

The lottery currently offers prize claims by appointment at its offices. Full details are available at the lottery's website here.

The money from lottery prizes that expire in Iowa without being claimed goes into the lottery's prize pools for future games and promotions, so it will be used to pay prizes, just not those prizes that have expired.

If the winner or winners of the Des Moines ticket have questions before coming forward to claim the prize, they are welcome to call the lottery at 515-725-7900.
