Southeast Iowa Woman Wins Large Lottery Prize

Linda Disburg Claims Big Prize in InstaPlay Lottery Game

CLIVE, Iowa - A southeast Iowa woman has won a lottery prize of more than $20,000.

Linda Disburg of Danville won a Cherry Twist Progressive InstaPlay jackpot prize. She purchased her winning ticket at Westland Fast Break, 1108 W. Agency Road in West Burlington, and claimed her prize Tuesday at the lottery's Cedar Rapids regional office.

The InstaPlay product combines features from instant-scratch and lotto games. InstaPlay tickets are called "scratchless" because they have no security coating that needs to be removed to determine the prize won. And rather than having supplies of tickets printed in advance like those in traditional scratch and pull-tab games, InstaPlay tickets are printed on demand from the lottery terminal.

Since the lottery's start in 1985, its players have won more than $5.7 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $2.4 billion for the state programs that benefit all Iowans.

Today, lottery proceeds help our state in multiple ways. They help Iowa veterans and their families through the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund. They help the families of Iowa peace officers, firefighters and corrections employees who die in the line of duty. And they provide help for a variety of significant projects through the state General Fund.
