CLIVE, Iowa – A Washington County woman is planning a road trip now that she has won a $30,000 lottery prize.
Jami Reimers of Washington bought her winning ticket at BP, 209 N. Van Buren St. in Brighton. She won the 66th of 91 top prizes in the "Bonus Crossword" scratch game.
"I sat there for, I think, two hours in my vehicle, just thinking that I'd made a mistake, that it wasn't correct, before I believed it," she said with a laugh.
Reimers, who claimed her prize May 1 at the lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids, said she and her children have travel on their minds.
"The first thing we're going to do is go to Texas to see my dad," she said. "We haven't seen him in almost two years."
Bonus Crossword is a $3 scratch game. More details about how to play this game, and the number of prizes still up for grabs in it, can be found on the Iowa Lottery's website, www.ialottery.com.
