CLIVE, Iowa - A Webster City man said he felt like Jed Clampett after a $50,000 Iowa Lottery win.
Kendall Pruismann, 59, won a top prize playing the lottery's "Cash Wheel" scratch game. He bought his winning ticket at Yesway, 1803 Superior St. in Webster City.
Pruismann scratched the ticket in his garage while drinking his morning coffee.
"I kind of looked at it in dismay - 'I didn't just do this, did I?'" he said. "I went running in the house and asked my wife to look at it and make sure I wasn't seeing things.
"I kind of felt like Jed Clampett when I went in to talk to my wife," Pruismann added.
His wife, Rhonda, was thrilled.
"She said she knew there was a reason she loved me," Pruismann said with a laugh. "She came running up and gave me a big hug and we just kind of looked at each other in awe and said, 'What do we do now?'"
Pruismann claimed his prize Aug. 3 at the lottery's regional office in Mason City. It was the second of eight top prizes awarded in the game.
Cash Wheel is a $5 scratch game. Details about how to play this game, and the number of prizes still available, can be found at www.ialottery.com.
