Dani Krutsinger Claims First Top Prize In New 'Extreme Cash Blast' Scratch Game

CLIVE, Iowa - Her favorite ticket was sold out, so a Lucas County woman bought one in a different lottery game - and won $50,000.

Dani Krutsinger of Chariton claimed the first top prize in the Iowa Lottery's new "Extreme Cash Blast" scratch game.

"It's very hard to believe," Krutsinger told lottery officials Wednesday as she claimed her prize at lottery headquarters in Clive. "I've been waiting to get up here and make sure it's all true."

Krutsinger, 29, purchased her winning ticket at Casey's, 1421 Court Ave. in Chariton. Her favorite scratch game was sold out, so she opted for a pair of Extreme Cash Blast tickets, a game that began Sept. 5.

"It was my last ticket, and my last number, and it was $50,000," she said with a grin. "It really took me a long time to register, I guess. I didn't believe it at all."

She took the ticket to her father's house, and eventually back to the store, to confirm the win. It was the first of eight top prizes awarded in the game.

"I wanted somebody else to tell me, like, 'Hey, yeah, it's true,'" she said.

Krutsinger said she plans to use her winnings to pay off student loans, purchase a new car and share with her family.

Extreme Cash Blast is a $5 scratch game. For more information about this game, and the number of prizes still available, visit www.ialottery.com.
