Ottumwa Woman Wins Large Lottery Prize

Linda King Claims Big Prize in InstaPlay Lottery Game

CLIVE, Iowa — An Ottumwa woman has won a lottery prize of more than $19,000.

Linda King won a Cherry Twist Progressive InstaPlay jackpot prize. She purchased her winning ticket at BP, 720 Richmond Ave. in Ottumwa, and claimed her prize of $19,428.65 on Friday at lottery headquarters in Clive.

The Cherry Twist Progressive jackpot starts at $2,000 and increases with each ticket sold statewide until it is won.

The InstaPlay product combines features from instant-scratch and lotto games. InstaPlay tickets are called "scratchless" because they have no security coating that needs to be removed to determine the prize won. And rather than having supplies of tickets printed in advance like those in traditional scratch and pull-tab games, InstaPlay tickets are printed on demand from the lottery terminal.

And they provide help for a variety of significant projects through the state General Fund.
