CLIVE, Iowa - An Urbandale man said he was in disbelief after scratching off a $100,000 lottery prize.
Robert "Bob" Lindbloom, 58, won a top prize in the Iowa Lottery's "Power 10s" scratch game. He purchased his ticket at Kum & Go, 6990 Douglas Ave. in Urbandale.
Lindbloom said he wasn't expecting to uncover the game's second top prize when he scratched off the prize amount on his winning ticket.
"I thought, 'Oh yeah, here we go, another $10 winner,'" he told lottery officials on Friday as he claimed his prize at lottery headquarters in Clive. "I scratched it quick, and got weak in the knees, and had to go over to the self-checker to make sure it was $100,000. And then I came straight to lottery headquarters to cash it in."
Lindbloom, who works for Polk County, said he didn't have any immediate plans for his winnings, but that he was considering paying off his and his girlfriend's cars.
