Kansas Woman Claims Top Prize in 'Pink Ice' Scratch Game

CLIVE, Iowa - A Kansas woman has won a $15,000 lottery prize on a ticket her mother purchased in Poweshiek County.

Makenzie Morris, 20, of Scott City, Kan., won the fifth top prize available in the Iowa Lottery's "Pink Ice" scratch game. She was traveling through Iowa with her family when they stopped at Kwik Star, 4183 Iowa Highway 21 in Brooklyn, where her mother bought the winning ticket and gave it to Makenzie as a gift.

Morris claimed the prize on Wednesday at the lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids.
