Clinton County Woman Wins $10,000 Lottery Prize

CLIVE, Iowa - A Clinton County woman has won a $10,000 lottery prize.

Belinda Kifer of Wheatland won the big prize in the Iowa Lottery's "$100,000 Mega Crossword" scratch game. She purchased her winning ticket at Day Break, 102 U.S. Highway 30 in Wheatland, and claimed her prize Thursday at the lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids.

Kifer, who won the fourth of 50 prizes of $10,000 in the game, is the second person from Wheatland - a town of about 760 - to win a large lottery prize in the past month. Stacy Stewart of Wheatland claimed a $15,000 "Power Shot" scratch prize on Aug. 23 on a ticket she purchased at the same store.
