Madison County Man May Build Tiny Home After Winning $50,000 Lottery Prize

Justin Tindle Claims $50,000 Top Prize In New 'Tiny Home, Big Wins!' Scratch Game

CLIVE, Iowa – The first of eight top prizes of $50,000 available in the Iowa Lottery's new "Tiny Home, Big Wins!" scratch game was claimed Tuesday by a Madison County man.

Justin Tindle of Winterset says he may use his winnings to build a small house and join the tiny home movement that the scratch ticket is based on.

"I'm a big fan of the tiny house TV shows," Tindle told lottery employees Tuesday as he claimed his prize at the lottery's headquarters in Clive. "I love watching it and dream of building something like that."

Tindle, 41, said he bought his winning ticket Tuesday at Kum & Go, 111 E. Jefferson St. in Winterset.

"I went out to my car, locked the door and scratched it off and realized I was a very lucky man," he said.

Tindle then went home and asked his wife, Kylee, if she wanted to go with him to Des Moines to buy building supplies – and claim a lottery prize.

"His hand was shaking and he had the lottery ticket in his hand," Kylee said. "From looking at the ticket, I could tell that he had won $50,000."

Tindle, who owns a used car lot in Winterset, said if he doesn't build a tiny home he may use his winnings to help his wife expand her jewelry business, Spoons Full of Sugar.
