Davenport Woman Wins $18,000 Lottery Prize

Clinetra Clinton Claims Top Prize In 'Win It All' Scratch Game

Clinetra Clinton

CLIVE, Iowa — A Davenport woman is planning a vacation for her family of six after scratching off an $18,000 lottery prize.

"I'm so happy," Clinetra Clinton told lottery officials after claiming her prize on April 1 at the lottery's Cedar Rapids regional office. "Definitely a lifetime memory."

Clinton, 36, won the first top prize in the Iowa Lottery's "Win It All" scratch game. Her husband, Aaron, bought a few tickets in the game during a recent stop at Riverside Liquor, 1528 W. Locust St. in Davenport. She said he chose that game because he knew that non-winning tickets in it could be entered into the lottery's Play It Again® promotion for another chance at a cash prize.

They stopped at a nearby park and while Aaron got out to fish, she stayed behind to scratch the tickets. She did a double-take when she uncovered the big winner.

"I scratched it and looked once, looked again, and I jumped out of the truck and was like, 'We just won $18,000!'" Clinton said. "I just couldn't believe it."

She said her husband was skeptical.

"He was like, 'Don't come over playing with me!'" she recalled with a laugh. "I'm like, 'No, seriously!'"

Clinton quickly scanned the ticket on the Iowa Lottery's mobile app to confirm her win.

"I scanned the ticket from my phone, just to make sure," she said. "I had 1,0001 thoughts running through my head, like, 'Did I just buy it at a gag shop? It can't be real!

"I just couldn't believe it," she added. "I still can't believe it."

Win It All is a $2 scratch game that features seven top prizes of $18,000 and overall odds of 1 in 3.73. For more information about this game, and the number of prizes still available, visit www.ialottery.com.
