Cedar Rapids Woman Claims $12,500 Lottery Prize

Teresa Kilts Claims Big Prize in Pick 4 Lotto Game

Teresa Kilts

CLIVE, Iowa — A Cedar Rapids woman has won a $12,500 lottery prize.

Teresa Kilts won the big prize in Monday's Pick 4 evening drawing. She made a $4 straight/box wager, meaning she could win a prize by matching the four numbers drawn in any order. But her prize was larger because she matched the numbers in the exact order drawn: 9-2-7-4.

Kilts purchased her winning ticket at Hy-Vee, 1843 Johnson Ave. NW in Cedar Rapids. She claimed her prize Tuesday at the lottery's Cedar Rapids regional office.

Pick 4, which has been offered in Iowa since September 2003, features odds of just 1 in 10,000 of winning the game's $30,000 top prize. It offers a variety of play options and wagers from 50 cents to $5 for the chance to match a four-digit number combination from 0000 to 9999.
