CLIVE, Iowa — A central Iowa man has won a $20,000 Mega Millions prize.
Charles DeBord of Macksburg matched four of five white balls and the Mega Ball® in Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing. He purchased his winning ticket at Fareway, 105 E. Adams St. in Creston, and claimed his prize Wedneday at the lottery's main office in Clive.
In the $5 Mega Millions game, players choose their first five numbers from a pool of 70, and another number — called the Mega Ball — from a separate pool of 24. The game features a built-in multiplier for each play that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times.
