CLIVE, Iowa — A Missouri woman has won a $100,000 Iowa Lottery prize on a ticket she purchased in southern Iowa.
Michelle Bax, 62, of Independence, Mo., won a top prize playing “The Price is Right” scratch game. She purchased her lucky ticket at Casey's, 1706 Jeffreys Drive in Osceola, and scratched it off right away.
“I get in the truck and go, 'Would you believe me if I told you I won $100,000?'” Bax said of her partner, Nick. “He goes, 'No.' I go, 'Well, I won $100,000!' I'm like, 'I'm gonna freak out here!'”
Bax said her big win didn't feel real until she got home and downloaded the Iowa Lottery mobile app.
“I scanned it there like a million times,” she said with a laugh.
Bax said she plans to save her winnings for now, and put some toward a vacation to Yellowstone National Park next year.
The Price is Right is a $10 scratch game with prizes ranging from $10 to $100,000 and overall odds of 1 in 2.87. For more information, visit www.ialottery.com.
