CLIVE, Iowa — A central Iowa man has won a $10,000 Mega Millions prize.

Daryl Whiteside of West Des Moines matched four of five white balls and the Mega Ball in Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing. He was one number away from winning that night's $380 million drawing.

Whiteside purchased his winning ticket at Casey's, 108 Eighth St. in West Des Moines, and claimed his prize Thursday at lottery headquarters in Clive.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were 15-18-25-33-38 and Mega Ball 25. The Megaplier®, an optional $1 add-on which multiples non-jackpot prize amounts by up to five times, was 2.

Players in $2 Mega Millions choose their first five numbers from a pool of 70, and another number - called the Mega Ball - from a separate pool of 25. The Megaplier option is available for an extra $1 per play.
