CLIVE, Iowa - A Wisconsin man has won a $30,000 Iowa Lottery prize on a ticket he purchased in Linn County.
Gerald Van Slyke of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., won the first top prize in the "Pocket Change" scratch game. He purchased his winning ticket at Casey's, 323 U.S. Highway 30 SW in Mount Vernon, and claimed his prize Monday at the lottery's Cedar Rapids regional office.
Pocket Change is a $3 scratch game that features eight top prizes of $30,000 and overall odds of 1 in 3.11.
From now until 8:59 a.m. on May 29, players can enter nonwinning tickets from the Pocket Change scratch game into the lottery's Prize Zone promotion for the chance to win an Ultimate Art Experience at this summer's Des Moines Arts Festival® and $1,000 in Art Bucks.
