CLIVE, Iowa - A Cedar Falls man has won a $30,000 lottery prize.

Chad Niehaus won the 88th top prize in the Iowa Lottery's "Bonus Crossword" scratch game. He purchased his winning ticket at Thunder Ridge Ampride, 2425 White Tail Drive in Cedar Falls, and claimed his prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Clive.

Bonus Crossword is a $3 scratch game that features overall odds of 1 in 3.52 and 144 top prizes of $30,000. For more information about this game, and the number of prizes still available, visit ialottery.com.

Since the lottery's start in 1985, its players have won more than $5.7 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $2.4 billion for the state programs that benefit all Iowans.

Today, lottery proceeds help our state in multiple ways. They help Iowa veterans and their families through the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund. They help the families of Iowa peace officers, firefighters and corrections employees who die in the line of duty. And they provide help for a variety of significant projects through the state General Fund.
