CLIVE, Iowa — A Plymouth County man said he's eyeing a new pickup truck after he won a $100,000 lottery prize.

Scott Kehoe of Hinton won the first top prize in the Iowa Lottery's "Beat the Heat" scratch game, which began sales in June. He bought his winning ticket at Leeds Food & Fuel, 4004 Floyd Blvd. in Sioux City, and claimed his prize Thursday at lottery headquarters in Clive.

Beat the Heat is a $10 scratch game that features six top prizes of $100,000, 26 prizes of $10,000 and overall odds of 1 in 3.16. For more information about this game, and the number of prizes still available, visit www.ialottery.com.

Since the lottery's start in 1985, its players have won more than $5.8 billion in prizes while the lottery has raised more than $2.4 billion for the state programs that benefit all Iowans.
