CLIVE, Iowa - Two northwest Iowa sisters have split a $300,000 lottery prize.
Jeanne McEntee, 61, of Spencer, and Janet Muller, 59, of Spirit Lake, won the sixth top prize in the Iowa Lottery's "Colossal Crossword" scratch game. McEntee purchased the winning ticket at Casey's, 800 S. Grand Ave. in Spencer. They claimed their prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Clive.
The sisters, who like to play the lottery together, won the prize in mid-March, but took time to speak to their accountants before claiming their prize. They plan to save their winnings for retirement.
